OK, so what does all this radio stuff mean to me and what do I have to do?
When dealing with radio communications there are three questions that you need to keep in mind.
1. Who am I ?
2. Who do I need to communicate with?
3. What information needs to be passed on the radio.
Who am I?
When you are deployed on a CERT call out your assigned responsibilities will determine who you are. If you are assigned as a Team Lead you will use the radio designation for that position or team. If you are not a team lead, chances are you will not have a official radio call. Your Lead may assign each person an identity for clarity. Example you are a team member on Team four. Your radio designation may be team four member # 1.
